Feeding Pasco’s Elderly Shares Its Mission with the Rotary Club of New Port Richey

On October 21, 2026, Feeding Pasco’s Elderly had the opportunity to share its story with the Rotary Club of New Port Richey. Richard Hayes spoke to the club at its weekly meeting, and board member Karen King made the introduction.

Richard described how Feeding Pasco’s Elderly began with a small group of dedicated volunteers and a simple goal: making sure seniors in our community have nutritious food and a caring human connection. That mission has grown into a vital resource for elderly residents across Pasco County.

He also explained how the organization works. Feeding Pasco’s Elderly does not prepare or deliver meals itself. Instead, it raises funds that help make those services possible. Through its partnership with Pasco County, those dollars support meals delivered to homebound seniors through the County’s Meals on Wheels program.

Richard spoke about the challenges many seniors face, including food insecurity, isolation, limited mobility, and fixed incomes. He gave special attention to seniors who need help but are not yet receiving it. Qualifying for government and community programs often means paperwork, documentation, and long waits. Feeding Pasco’s Elderly steps in during that gap, providing food and support so that seniors do not go hungry while they wait for longer term assistance.

Richard shared success stories that show what volunteers and community supporters make possible in the lives of local seniors. Through partnerships, donations, and volunteer service, the organization continues to expand its reach while treating every client with dignity and respect.

Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano also spoke about the valuable partnership between the County and Feeding Pasco’s Elderly.

Feeding Pasco’s Elderly thanks the Rotary Club of New Port Richey for the warm welcome and for the chance to introduce its work to so many community leaders.
